Our website is currently under construction. However, we want the website to be available for families searching for HOPE.
Our GOALS to achieving this mission are:
1) ADVOCATE
- Create an alliance/coalition that brings together parents, volunteers, medical community representatives, and relevant organizations and resources in order to create a cooperative environment that facilitates positive trisomy awareness.
- Take advantage of media, conference, and educational opportunities to bring awareness about the trisomy community.
- Use educational tools, testimonials and real-life examples, resources, and technology to make trisomy information more available to the general public.
- Support medical surveys, white papers, and statistical data collection in the trisomy community and encourage families to participate in sharing information.
2) EDUCATE
- Create a central repository of parent experiential data, pertinent medical information, relevant organizational supports, and ongoing surveys and links and visual mapping to trisomy families.
- Create documents based on parent experiential data to share 'real-world' issues with families facing trisomy diagnosis. Make this information freely available on our website, and down-loadable for sharing.
- Create disclaimers clearly stating this information is not medical advice.
- Create an online directory of trisomy stories in a standard format.
3) EMPOWER
- Create a standard advocacy plan that will allow us to help parents advocate, and more importantly, will help parents to help themselves become their child’s best advocate.
- Ensure all parties are educated on all pertinent laws, rights, and how to connect to local services.
- Create a volunteer base to reach out and help families navigate through the medical process.
